Minotaur Barn

Project managed by the current owners, the main house was constructed by Oakwrights , using the special skills of local craftsmen, eco friendly building materials and techniques, they created a delightful modern house with a traditional feel.

The frame of the house is made from solid green oak and was completed using the breathing wall system. The roof, walls and floors are 30cm thick. They are filled with warm cell (a treated cellulose fiber) , allowing water vapour to escape naturally. The indoor stud walls are insulated with sheep wool. The whole house is double glazed, using low emission K-glass on the south facing elevation. This makes the house warm in winter and cool in summer.

Minotaur Barn was first used as a small holding to breed sheep, pigs, chicken and geese.

Cheltenham
